I will post about my horrible experience at this body shop later, but right now I'm so pissed off I literally cannot even.

Does it wipe off? Might be filler primer dust.

If it makes you feel better I test drove a 2011 535i this weekend that had an honest-to-god male pubic hair under the clear coat where an obvious repainted panel had happened. Salesman tried to tell me it happens all the time and the woman I was testing it for didn't even care.

I spent 7 years in the collision industry ... can't await to hear this one. Super curious about what kind of shop did this work. Also: Sorry bud.

You know how I know that I'm a nerd? When I read "got" in all capital letters in the title, I read it as "Game of Thrones." :P

Ha! We know what you look like now.
In other news, sorry about the car. That seriously looks like amateur hour work there. Sucks that insurance made you take it to their shop instead of letting you bring it where you wanted to. Not sure how your states laws are, but in some states they have to let you take it to the shop of your choice. If that is the case make a stink with the insurance company about having the claims person steer you to their company. Then make them make it right at the body shop of your choice while they provide you the rental car of your choice (Hertz dream car line I'm thinking).
Pretty sure Lehto had a post on insurance companies and how steering is illegal in some states.

I know right? I don't understand how everyone was so nonchalant about it, like the salesman didn't even give a passing "Oh we'll have the body guys take care of that" to comfort us. I just wanted to kill it with fire. They also had a $60K used M6 convertible that looked like it had gone through a sandblaster in their showroom with balding tires dressed with a pad of lard.

"What? It's just pubic hair. Oh, ExcuuuUUUUuuuuUUUUUse me princess, as if you've never had sex with your bosses wife on top of a customer's car while he and his mother and law filmed it. Please. Who hasn't done that?"

For the record, they didn't force me to go there. They told me up front I could take it wherever. They just mentioned this shop was close to me and they happened to be one of their preferred shops, so I decided to try it their way. For their part, my insurance is suitably horrified and is working on making it right.

Fortunately it isn't paint. I'm sure it will wash off, but that isn't the point.

that's good news at least. Hopefully it gets out right quickly. And they rent you something nice. One of the Hertz dream cars SLS's perhaps.

Totally. When you get your car back from a body shop, it should be all washed up and sparkly!
